While Toto IV was a successful album, the band did not have a huge success in the United States. They were often referred to as "yacht rock" and were mocked by critics. The band was professional and able to alter their style according to the request of the client for a song. It is because of this that they were sought-after as session musicians. Steve Lukather's guitar playing is underrated, and Jeff Porcaro’s drumming is excellent.
Despite the poor chart performance, Toto continued to tour and record music. The Seventh One, their strongest album yet, failed to top the charts. Columbia Records was disappointed, as they had high expectations of the album. The album did however, become a huge hit in Europe and received a gold certification.

The album featured three brand new songs, as well as several finished versions of older tracks. In addition, to releasing this album, Toto toured to promote it. The band performed at some of Europe's most famous venues, including the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London and the Royal Palace of Amsterdam in Amsterdam. The DVD features two shows along with bonus material.
